“Career Pathways in Teacher Education” Spotlighted at UCC on April 3

The University Center at Chaparral (UCC) will host an amazing opportunity for teachers and potential teachers on Thursday, April 3 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. with their Career Pathways in Teacher Education program. The six educational partners that support the Career Pathway program and will be available are: Arapahoe Community College, Adams State College, Colorado Christian University, Douglas County School District, Lesley University, and University of Colorado Denver.

University Center at Chaparral is a satellite campus of Arapahoe Community College located at 15653 Brookstone Drive, Parker, CO - three miles east of I-25 near the intersection of Lincoln and Chambers. UCC offers an on-site array of teacher education preparation pathways supported by a unique blend of partners. Since its opening in 2000, the vision of UCC continues to be a progression of “seamless” education for the South Metro Denver community. The six professional educational partners, working in collaboration, provide coursework encompassing high school through graduate studies in teacher education and it turns out to be very cost-effective.

“Through the efforts of ACC and UCC, students now have a selection of highly qualified accredited programs in the South Metro area. All levels of teacher education from certificates through master’s degrees are available at University Center at Chaparral,” states Linda Forrest, ACC Coordinator of Education Programs.

One of the primary benefits for teachers/students at UCC is having one location to meet all of their educational needs and goals. The UCC campus is conveniently located in South Metro Denver near the intersection of Lincoln and Chambers, with free parking and flexible hours which include evenings and weekends. All of the educational partners are recognized for their high-quality, accredited programs which provide Non-credit; Certificate; Associate; Bachelor’s and Master’s degree level programs.

Experienced and knowledgeable faculty provide interactive and experiential student learning. This program encourages cohort-based learning which creates a network of support for students and provides community connections with the local school district and educational programs. The educational attributes of this pathway can only be described as a one-of-a-kind opportunity. The students who chose this path will be delighted with the responsive educational partners and their expertise that will equip them to become leaders in their chosen careers.
