PARKER, Colo. (Apr. 12, 2012) - Arapahoe Community College is proud to announce the seventh year of its Event Management Certificate program, which will begin on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the ACC Parker Campus.
The program offers an advanced curriculum that provides high-quality, experiential education, as well as training to those currently in the event management industry and those who want to enter the field.
“Our first six years have been a success," said Erica Bullock-Jones, ACC’s Workforce Training program manager. "Many of our graduates have secured employment, been promoted within their current company or greatly increased their event planning experience with planning in, or obtaining sponsorships for, city-wide events. We are ready to train a new group of aspiring event management professionals in nearly every aspect of event planning. Whether you have a variety of experience, or no experience at all, this course will be beneficial for you.”
ACC, in partnership with the Colorado Festivals & Events Association (CFEA), has created a flexible program designed to maximize the skills of current and future event planning professionals. The program consists of nine classes, with each running one night per week (three-hour sessions) for five weeks at the ACC Parker Campus. Classes are taught by industry professionals and cater to students interested in furthering their knowledge and career in the event management field.
This year, ACC is offering one weekend of intensive classes covering all aspects of wedding planning. This course will be offered on Oct. 26-27 and is open to the public for $199.00.
Additional courses offered in ACC’s Event Management Certificate program include:
* Introduction to Event Management
* Event Design and Administration
* Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing
* Operations and Logistics of Events
* Volunteer and Staff Management
* Entertainment and Community Attractions
* Meeting Planning, Food, Beverage and Hospitality

Classes may be taken individually or as a certificate program. Students pursuing the complete Event Management Certificate will be required to take all the above classes (10 months in length) including the wedding planner intensive weekend class, complete an internship of 45 hours and create a portfolio. In addition, for a limited time, new students who choose to purchase the full package of classes will receive one module for free (a discount of $349).
