(November 17, 2010 – Littleton, Colorado) – Arapahoe Community College student Jeff Greene was recognized with the Math, Business and Technology (MBT) Graduate Award last night for his high achievement in computer networking studies.
Greene, of Denver, is the second student to receive the MBT Graduate Award since the program began last semester. MBT Dean Cindy Somers presented Green with $500 and a plaque. The MBT award recognizes an MBT student who has outstanding academics, brings synergy to the classroom and maintains positive behavior in class.
“Jeff has proven himself to be a hard-working, driven student,” Dean Somers said. “He brings new ideas to the classroom and prompts other students to think about unique concepts. He is always willing to go above and beyond and help others succeed.”
Greene enrolled at ACC in August 2008 and currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average. In addition to his studies, Greene works in ACC’s computer lab and often leads discussion and brainstorming sessions. He also serves as the student administrator of the Microsoft Academic Alliance, helping students obtain needed software.
Greene was nominated by MBT Chair Leo Diede. Diede described Greene as someone who strives to understand and pass that understanding on to other students.
