Reception Opens ACC Interior Design Exhibit

(January 20, 2010 – Littleton, Colorado) - A reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, in the Colorado Gallery of the Arts will open an exhibit by students in the Interior Design Program at Arapahoe Community College. The students will exhibit their work at the Gallery from Jan. 27 through March 3. The ACC Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is presenting the exhibit.

“It only takes a leisurely stroll down the halls of the ACC Design Center to see the talent being nurtured in the classrooms there. The Interior Design Program is no exception,” said Trish Sangelo, director of the Colorado Gallery of the Arts at ACC. “The boards, drawings, renderings and plans themselves are not only fine representations of what they represent ‘full scale,’ but can stand alone as intrinsic works of art and graphic design.”

The show will feature the work of students enrolled in the ACC Interior Design Program. The ACC Interior Design Department offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree and emphasizes preparation for a career as an interior designer. Students learn to develop creative abilities and the methods and processes to practice design responsibly and profitably.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours for the exhibit at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts will be Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Gallery is located on the first floor of the College's Annex building at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive in Littleton.
