ACC Foundation Hosts Annual Scholarship Luncheon

The Arapahoe Community College Foundation will host the fourth annual Scholarship Luncheon on Thursday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the ACC Dining Hall. The event recognizes scholarship recipients and the donors who helped to make their educational dreams come true.

Diana Doyle, new ACC President, will open the luncheon with welcoming remarks. TheGradution at ACC Foundation will present the ‘Promoting the Power of Education Award’ to Steve Spangler with Steve Spangler Science in Englewood. He actively promotes the power of education through the media and throughout the community.

Foundation Director Courtney Loehfelm said the annual Scholarship Luncheon is a unique event. “It offers sponsors, donors and attendees the opportunity to meet ACC students who are receiving scholarship support because of their generosity. All funds raised from this event are used to provide scholarships to economically disadvantaged students who are committed to furthering their education or enhancing their work skills. As our country faces new challenges, the roles of community colleges are evolving to meet those immediate needs.”

During the past three years, these events have raised more than $82,000 for the Foundation. Attendees will include scholarship recipients, community leaders, ACC faculty and staff, volunteers, supporters and alumni. 

The event will begin with registration and campus tours at 11 a.m. Lunch, presentation of the “Promoting the Power of Education Award” and the keynote speech will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Corporate sponsorships are available for this event and help local people enhance their work skills through higher education, ultimately improving the quality of their lives. Corporate Sponsors help add more qualified workers to the region.

Those interested in attending must register online and purchase a ticket. Individual tickets for the luncheon cost $40 for members of the public and $30 for ACC Employees. The Dining Hall is on the first floor of the Main Building near the west entrance. The ACC Main Campus is at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive on the east side of Santa Fe at College Drive.
