Arapahoe Community College Department Chairs hire part–time instructors when they are in need of an instructor.

PartTime Instructor Opportunities

Architectural Technology and Construction Supervision Instructors

  • Applicants should possess professional Architecture Degree (BArch or MArch) or construction management experience.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems, construction documentation, materials needed.

Astronomy

Automotive Technology Program
The Automotive Department is in need of qualified instructors.

  • Five (5) of years industry experience and relevant industry certifications are the minimum requirements.

Biology
Instructors needed for Biology-related courses. Applicants must posses a Master’s Degree in Natural Science with graduate work in Biology. Contact Terry Harrison at 303.797.5841

3-D AutoCAD

  • Applicants should have 5 years working experience creating models using surface and or solid-modeling techniques.
  • Previous teaching experience a plus.

Economics
The Economics Department is in need of qualified instructors to teach Economics:

  • Master Degree in Economics or 18 semester hours of graduate level Economics
  • Teaching experience preferred

Electronics & Computer Technology Instructors

  • Instructor positions require a degree in electronics, computer electronics or similar field, teaching or training experience at the high school, college or corporate levels.

    ECT courses and fundamentals of electronics, computer hardware and software graduates are knowledgeable in convergence of these technical fundamentals and are ready to meet changing needs of the work place.

Interior Design
The Interior Design Department is in need of instructors:

Drafting for Interiors –

  • Combination of college degree and professional experience in the construction/design related field required
  • Traditional hand-drafting skills needed
  • Once part of the adjunct pool, additional class opportunities will become available

The Mortuary Science Department is in need of instructors.

  • BA plus Mortuary Science Degree and five (5) years experience are the minimum requirements.

Multi Media Instructors

Flash Instructor
Instruct students in Web animation using Flash in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; evenings. Appropriate industry experience required.

Web Design 1 Instructor
Instruct students in Web design using Dreamweaver in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; afternoons and/or online. Appropriate industry experience required.

Digital Video Editing Instructor
Instruct students in video editing using Final Cut Express in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; afternoons. Appropriate industry experience required.

Lightwave Instructor
Instruct students in 3D computer animation using Lightwave in a well-equipped face-to-face computer lab; afternoons. Appropriate industry experience required.

The Nursing Department seeks qualified instructors for Clinicals in:

  • Med/Surgical Nursing: BSN required, Master’s degree in Nursing preferred, plus two years of clinical experience
  • Psychiatric Nursing: BSN required, Masters in Nursing or in Psychology preferred, plus two or more years experience

Part–Time Instructor Salaries
for FY 2007–2008

1. Lecture Classes: $599.18 per credit hour

2. Lecture/Lab: $898.18 per credit hour

3. Lecture/Clinical: $758.17 per credit hour

4. Practicum: Negotiable

5. Independent Study: $75.00 per Independent Study
