The Fine Art Student Juried Exhibition opening reception will be held today from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.

The juror for this exhibit is yet to be announced.

Undecided about your major or career path?  Join the Career and Transfer Center for the Career Explorer Workshop on Friday, April 10, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Room M2070.

Registration and pre-assessment is required.  This workshop is free for students.  Fee is $55 for ACC alumni.  Register through ACC Career Connect or the Career & Transfer Center.

Student Affairs will host an alcohol awareness water pong tournament on Wednesday, April 15, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the West Patio.

Grab a friend and sign up at the Student Affairs Office (Room M2820).  How much is really consumed during a normal game of beer pong?  What you don’t know can hurt you.  Drinking too much alcohol increases the risk of poor health, injuries, violence, liver disease and some types of cancer.  Be informed and make good decisions about consuming adult beverages.  Prizes will be awarded to the first-place team.

The Arapahoe Community College Astronomy Program will host a "star party" on Friday, April 17, from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Littleton Campus (West Lawn; between the Main Building and Lot G).

Star parties will be held in an open house format, and attendees are welcome to arrive at their convenience.  ACC will provide a telescope at the star parties, which are free and open to the public (no RSVP necessary; please dress appropriately for these outdoor events).  Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

Student Affairs will facilitate FREE self defense training on Tuesday, April 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the Half Moon.

Sign up in advance (space is limited) at the Student Affairs Office (Room M2820) for a free one-hour training presented by Sensei Rudy Trenconsky of the Yamabushi Dojo in Highlands Ranch.  Familiarize yourself with a full range of self-defense techniques, including: awareness, assault deterrence and setting verbal boundaries.  Physical skills are practiced (full contact and full force with the “attacker”).  Learn how to overcome the freeze response and how to strategize and assess options while in an adrenaline-heightened state.  Lunch will be provided.
