Arapahoe Community College will once again serve as a location for the Tax Help Colorado program in 2015, as announced by The Piton Foundation and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS).

Tax Help Colorado, which is a partnership between The Piton Foundation and the CCCS, provides Colorado families with the opportunity to have their tax return prepared and e-filed by IRS-certified college students.  These services are free to Colorado taxpayers whose annual household income was less than $52,000 in 2014.

Tax Help ColoradoACC will facilitate Tax Help Colorado at its Littleton Campus (5900 S. Santa Fe Drive) each Friday from Jan. 23 - Mar. 13 in Room A1540 (first floor of the Annex Building) from Noon – 3:00 p.m.  IRS-certified ACC students will prepare and e-file these tax returns.  No appointment necessary.

WHAT TO BRING TO A PARTICIPATING TAX HELP COLORADO SITE

Furthermore, for Colorado families who have children at home and whose household income is less than $52,000, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit can reduce the amount of income tax paid and may even mean a much bigger tax refund – as much as $6,000 more.  Additionally, there are tax credits that can help to pay for college.

This is the fourth straight year that ACC has worked in conjunction with The Piton Foundation to support the Tax Help Colorado program.  The ACC site facilitated 190 combined returns for a grand total of $364,613 in Federal and State refunds during the 2014 tax season.

Arapahoe Community College is hosting a screening of "DOC of the DEAD" on Monday, Feb. 2, at Noon in the Half Moon.  Join Director Alexandre Philippe and writer / zombie expert Cory Casciato for a question/answer session about this zombie culture documentary.  Free popcorn and soda will be available.

Undecided about your major or career path?  Join the Career and Transfer Center for the Career Explorer Series on Feb. 10 and 17 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. each day in Room M2070.
