Arapahoe Community College's 2015 commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 16, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Orchard Road Christian Center at 8081 E. Orchard Road in Greenwood Village.

Plenty of seating will be available, and graduates are encouraged to invite as many guests as they would like.  Tickets are not required, and the ceremony typically lasts about 1 ½ hours.  Additional instructions will be sent to graduating students the week before the ceremony.

McCallin, Ph.D., will be the honorary 50th Anniversary guest speaker.

Selected as ACC's 2014-15 Faculty of the Year, Jones is the Medical Office Technology Program Coordinator.  Jones, who is also ACC’s 2014-15 Faculty Senate President, currently serves on the Marketing Advisory Committee and on the Environmental Analysis Task Force for the College's 2015-20 Strategic Planning Committee.  Jones, who has been teaching at ACC for seven years, earned her associate degree (Medical Assisting) from ACC.  Jones resides in Castle Rock with her son, Jake (25), and daughter, Natasha (19).  Both of her children attend ACC.

Perlinger began her studies at ACC in the fall of 2012 is graduating with her Associate of General Studies.  She was named to the President’s List for her 4.0 GPA during the Spring 2014 semester and has been a member of ACC’s Sigma Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa since the Fall 2013 semester.  During the Spring 2015 semester, Perlinger was selected as one of two ACC representatives on the 2015 Phi Theta Kappa All-Colorado Academic Team.  Perlinger currently works as a job coach for disabled adults at Opportunity in Living, and plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at MSU Denver.  She aspires to obtain a fulfilling career making a difference for children in the foster care system.  A native of Liberty, Missouri, Perlinger and her husband, Chris, have two daughters, Audrey (26) and Elizabeth (18), and a son, Matthew (13).

artwork by Cele BergstromThe Community Education Student and Instructor Art Exhibition begins today with an opening reception from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Today's festivities will include light refreshments and music by the ACC(h)ord(e) Ensemble.

The exhibit runs through June 29.  Admission is free and the exhibit is open to the public.  Hours of operation at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts for the Community Education Student and Instructor Art Exhibition are as follows:

MONDAY - FRIDAY:  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
SATURDAY / SUNDAY:  closed

The Colorado Gallery of the Arts is located on the first floor of the ACC Annex building (map).

50th Anniversary GalaThe Arapahoe Community College Foundation will host a 50th Anniversary Gala on Thursday, May 21, from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. at Cielo at Castle Pines.

Join us for casino games, a hosted bar, signature cocktails, a hand-crafted menu, dancing and the "Fashion Show of the Decades" as we conclude the year-long celebration of ACC's 50th anniversary in style.  Tickets are $75 apiece for faculty and staff, and $100 apiece for the general public.  Please purchase tickets by May 12 (tickets will not be sold at the event).
