Unfortunately, due to illness, today’s guest speaker, Frank Moschetti, has to cancel his appearance on campus.  He was originally scheduled to discuss DUI laws in Colorado in conjunction with the Psychology Club’s recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month.

Frank apologizes for the inconvenience, and we are in the process of rescheduling his appearance, so stay tuned for the updated information!

Wrap-up meeting for the semester and discussing next semester and summer activities.  In addition, a representative from the Tri-County Health Department will be discussing safe sex and the importance of getting tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Recruiting for employment

We would like to invite you to our second annual Earth Day celebration. Some of the highlights of the event include:

  • Exhibits and entertainment by environmental groups, governmental agencies, green businesses,  and citizens of all ages in demonstrating their contributions to the beauty and quality of life through their positive actions.
  • Planting ACC new community garden.
  • Recycling art competition (for more information about the competition, please contact Nia Bauer)
  • Goodwill Donation Drive:  A trailer will be there to collect your donations of gently used items, like clothing, shoes, and accessories.
  • Live Music offered by ACC music department and outside groups.
  • Food (served by Noodles and Co.).   Only $1 a plate.

Participate in Child Abuse Awareness Day.  We'll have:

  • Resource table with valuable information. 
  • Check out "Treating Abused Children" by Alyce Duckwork in M1950 from noon - 1:00 p.m.
  • Learn about effective parenting practices.

You must sign up by April 7 in the Career Center. These seminars are FREE for currently enrolled declared AAS and certificate students.

On Monday, April 19, 10 – 11:15 a.m., in Room N1090, Lacey Beruman, Executive Director of NAMI Colorado, will be discussing issues regarding political advocacy and treatment. She will be joined by a member of NAMI Colorado who will discuss personal experiences with mental illness issues.
