Hi everyone! I am so excited and proud to be a member of the Arapahoe Community College Communication Department.

Just a little bit about me:

I received my Masters Degree in Communication from the University of Colorado Denver and am currently a PhD student in the UCD College of Education and Human Development where I am studying media literacy. Specifically, my research explores new and participatory media types such as virtual communities and social networking applications, and examines their impact on real world social engagement.

I love teaching communication – it is an exciting field that offers endless opportunities for growth and self-discovery. I am a big believer in the personal and professional value of becoming a better communicator and hope to share that enthusiasm with you. 

My family (husband Eric and two daughters Isabel and Mary Kate) and I live in Castle Rock, Colorado and have called it home for the past 12 years. We love to camp and hike, and spend a lot of time hanging out in our backyard enjoying the amazing Colorado weather. I also love to run, although I am not very fast… yet.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you and to a wonderful semester.
