Don Center E-mail: don.center@arapahoe.edu
Don has over twenty-five years of teaching experience at the college level and became an adjunct at ACC in 2001. His specialties include historical rhetoric, persuasion & propaganda, and relational communication. In addition to a variety of speech communication courses, he has also taught classes in English, drama, and business. Furthermore, he spent eight years in the public sector, six as CEO of a non-profit corporation.
Being a native upstate New Yorker explains why Don is fanatical about the Rangers, Jets, Knicks, and Yankees. If one ever has any doubts about his enthusiastic allegiances, one only had to peruse the dozens of New York sports memorabilia in his den including his 104 different New York Yankee caps that are displayed on one full wall.
His other hobbies include genealogy, bridge, community theatre, and listening to/singing along with old time rock ‘n roll. (Wince! He has a worse voice than Tiny Tim!) He claims to “be stuck in the sixties and proud of it.” These activities plus his five children and nine (soon to be ten) grandchildren more or less keep him out of trouble. And still he finds time to explore his creative writing talents, recently completing his first novel (still unpublished) and currently working on the sequel.
