| Program Description
According to the US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor
Statistics, Physical Therapist Assistant employment is projected
to increase much faster than the average through the year 2010.
According to an APTA survey approximately 50% of PTAs reported an
annual income between $25,000 and $35,000, with a small percentage
reporting incomes over $60,000. Similarly, the job market in the
Denver Metro area and throughout Colorado is also experiencing a
very positive shift. Within the next 1-2 years most of the major
hospital systems will be opening a new facility in the Metro area.
This expansion is anticipated to increase the number of PTA positions
in the Metro area.
Formal job placement assistance to PTA program graduates has not
been necessary as our graduates who wish to work in positions as
PTAs have been able to obtain those positions with most graduates
achieving employment within 1 week to 2 months of graduation. The
PTA program does provide informal job placement assistance by acting
as a liaison between employers and graduates.
