The Colorado Community College System has standardized and centralized the application process and admission criteria for all eleven community college nursing programs, including Arapahoe Community College.

PRE-REQUISITES TO APPLY
ADN Program
The following MUST BE COMPLETED prior to filling out your online application
ENG 121 English Composition (3 credits)
PSY 235 Human Growth and Development (3 credits)
BIO 201 Anatomy and Physiology I (with lab, 4 credits)
BIO 202 Anatomy and Physiology II (with lab, 4 credits)
BIO 204 Microbiology (with lab, 4 credits)
All Biology (BIO) prerequisites must be completed within 7 years of entry into CCCS nursing programs, and the five nursing prerequisites listed above must be a 2.5 or better GPA
LPN to ADN Program
The following MUST BE COMPLETED prior to filling out your online application
Possession of a valid Colorado LPN license in good standing.

LPN to ADN Program – Pre-requisites to ENTER
The following prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, BEFORE ENTRY into an LPN to ADN Nursing Program
MAT 103 Math for Clinical Calculations (3 credits)
(Contact nursing program regarding this math course prior to taking the course)
BIO 216 Pathophysiology (4 credits)
(Must be within 7 years at time of entrance into the program)
HPR 108 Nutrition (1 credit)

Application Process
Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)
- Attend a nursing information session or contact the Nursing Program Representative BEFORE COMPLETING THE NURSING WAIT LIST APPLICATION ONLINE. The Arapahoe Community College Nursing Program Representative is Carmella Condino, 303.797.5939 or e-mail to nursing@arapahoe.edu. You may also review the Nursing Program Application pre-requisites and process at the Colorado Community College System website: www.cccs.edu, click on “Nursing Program” in the left-hand column of choices.
- Login to Arapahoe Community College (www.arapahoe.edu) and complete an application (First Time, Transfer, Readmit or International) online. Follow all of the college application procedures. If you need assistance with the college application, contact Information Central at 303.797.4222 or Admissions and Records at 303.797.5621.

- Retain your Login ID and PIN for future access to your application until you have submitted it. Your assigned student ID number will be the same at any Colorado Community College System college. Please do not apply to multiple nursing programs; nursing programs with openings may contact students if they indicated on the nursing wait list application that they would be willing to consider other nursing programs.
- Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a Student ID number and your PIN will be your birth date in the form of (MMDDYY). Please update your personal information if it changes.
- Notification of your admission status to ARAPAHOE COMMUNITY COLLEGE will be sent to you. (This is a separate application from the Nursing Program Waitlist Application)
- Take the Accuplacer placement exam per college policy. This is to determine if you have any further pre-requisites which must be taken prior to your application to a nursing program. The Testing Center telephone number is 303.797.5993. You may also wish to make an appointment with an Advisor at this time. Call 303.797.5651 to schedule an appointment.
- Satisfactorily complete all Nursing Program prerequisites; you may review the pre-requisites at http://www.cccs.edu/Nursing/Prerequisites.html All prerequisite courses must be complete, with acceptable grades and a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on the five required pre-requisite courses as listed in the Nursing Program Prerequisites, BEFORE COMPLETING THE NURSING WAIT LIST APPLICATION ONLINE.
- Login to Arapahoe Community College with your Student ID and PIN, click on the Student Menu link, click on the Nursing Wait List Application link in the Quick Links area and complete the Nursing Wait List Application online. Select Arapahoe Community College if that is the college for which you wish to be considered.
- INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHANGING NURSING PROGRAMS: Please only apply to one wait list - you cannot be on multiple program or college Nursing Wait Lists. Additional Nursing Wait List applications will not be recorded. If you wish to change to another wait list, please contact your college's Nursing Department for instructions.
- All nursing programs require passing an FBI fingerprint check for students applying to the nursing wait list. You are required to complete the FBI fingerprint record check to determine application eligibility, typically at the time you apply for a waitlist number. NOTE: The FBI fingerprint check is valid for one year and because the Arapahoe Community College Nursing Program wait is long, it is recommended you contact the Arapahoe Community College Nursing Program Representative to determine when to complete the FBI fingerprint process.
- Passing a criminal background check and drug screen will be required after acceptance in a nursing program. Once you are accepted into a nursing program you will receive directions from your program regarding when to initiate and complete the criminal background check and drug screening.

- When instructed, to complete the FBI fingerprint process, go to www.healthcareex.com and follow the directions to select the FBI fingerprinting package. Follow directions from Arapahoe Community College to complete the fingerprinting process.
- It may take up to 6 months to process your Nursing Wait List Application. Students are considered based on program selection date (all application requirements must be met before applying to the nursing waitlist).
After submitting your Nursing Wait List Application, you will be contacted, within 6 months by the Arapahoe Community College Nursing Program Representative. Contact will be through your CCCS e-mail address, and you will be asked to provide documentation of completion of the required pre-requisite courses.
If you have 1) completed the five pre-requisite courses, 2) the BIO courses have been completed within 7 years, and 3) your GPA on the five pre-requisites is 2.5, you will be awarded a waitlist number based on the day and time of application.
If you have 1) not completed the five pre-requisite courses, 2) one or more of the BIO courses are older than 7 years at the time of your application, or 3) you do not meet the 2.5 GPA for the five pre-requisites, your name will be removed from the waitlist database and you will be required to re-apply when you have met the Wait List Application criteria.

The LPN to ADN program at Arapahoe Community College has been closed to new applicants at this time, due to the length of the waitlist.
