ACC Music Department Testimonials

I was very nervous when I signed up for my first voice lessons at Arapahoe Community College, but the teachers were so friendly and I had so much fun, that I quickly felt at home in the music department. I strongly recommend participating in the music program to anyone interested in pursuing music as a career or to anyone who just enjoys music as a hobby. My only regret is that I could only spend two years in the music department at Arapahoe Community College.

Christina M. Uhl
ACC Class of 2007

My name is Shelby Flowers, and I attended classes at ACC while I was a junior and senior in high school.  After graduating from Rock Solid High School at the end of May, I plan to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a full ride, pursuing a Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance.  From “Music Theory II” to “Masterpieces of Literature” to Dr. Mat’s animated “Music Appreciation” class to playing with Professor Lewis’ electrifying jazz band, I had a great experience at ACC and one that prepared me in numerous ways for whatever lies ahead.  I will never forget the meaningful relationships I’ve formed with students, teachers, and everyone in between (namely the seasoned players who dedicate time and amazing talent to the jazz band!) Thank you, ACC, for how you’ve come alongside me and helped me to become a confident and capable musician and scholar!

Special Thanks to the Arapahoe Philharmonic: our partner for the Arapahoe Philharmonic’s Youth Orchestra, helping youth to earn college ensemble credit while playing in the orchestra!
