Credentials:
Graduated 1995 from the University of Colorado at Denver with
a Bachelors of Science in mathematics
Graduated in 1998 from the University of Colorado at Denver with a Masters
in mathematics with emphasis in Statistics
Started teaching in 1995 as a part-time Teaching Assistant at UCD that lead
to a full-time Teaching Assistant. Simultaneously, I was an adjunct
instructor at Front Range Community College from 1996 through 1999 upon which
I became a full time mathematics factuly instructor at Barton County Community
College in Great Bend Kansas. I returned to Colorado in 2001.
At that time I taught as an honorarium instructor at UCD and an adjunct instructor
at Metropolitan State College Denver.
Currently I am a full-time mathematics faculty at Arapahoe Community College
and I’m lovin’ it.
Academic Interests:
I enjoy researching theories on learning and instructing.
I have incorporated some of the learning methodologies from educational psychologists
and Benjamin Bloom into my curriculum. I also integrate various forms
of technology in my curriculum to include PowerPoint and calculators.
Currently I am experimenting with Internet assessment instruments.
Personal Interests:
I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors are:
John Jakes (North / South Trilogy is a must), James Patterson (Women’s Murder
mystery series is a must), Alexandre Dumas (yes, The Three Musketeers and
The Count of Monte Cristo). I also enjoy biking and fooling with my
digital camera.
