I am a Colorado native. I have taught for over twenty-five years, pre-kindergarten through adults, many of my years spent at the middle school level. I started working at ACC in 2003 as the Youth College Coordinator, then as an adjunct developmental studies instructor until the fall of 2007. Since then I have been a full time faculty member.
I love teaching and helping make learning meaningful for my students is very rewarding. I believe it is my responsibility to inspire my students to learn and to provide the tools necessary to foster success. I realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us, they can be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how we use them.
I am a member of the National and Colorado Associations for Developmental Education, the International and Colorado Reading Associations, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two German Shepherds, and our many nieces and nephews. In our spare time, my husband and I conduct workshops and counsel engaged and married couples.
Michelle teaches development studies reading and English classes.
