Associate of Applied Science Degree
The study of Electronics Engineering Technology leads to employment
in Research & Development, Production and Service in the electronics
industry. Electronics Engineering Technicians build, test, troubleshoot
and repair electronic systems in the fields of computer, medical,
consumer and industrial electronics, as well as in telecommunications,
robotics, instrumentation and avionics.
Electronics Engineering Technology Certificate
The electronics engineering technology certificate allows students
to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and skills in electronics
for jobs in related fields, like manufacturing, CAD, telecommunications,
photonics, metrology and industrial maintenance. All courses transfer
directly into the Associate degree program in electronics engineering
technology, for those who wish to continue in electronics.
Electronics Assembler Certificate
The electronics assembler certificate prepares students for jobs
in the manufacturing field. Students will gain knowledge and skills
for manufacturing electronic systems. Mechanical ability is assumed.
Vendor Service Technician Certificate
The vendor service technician certificate enables students to seek
employment with companies that service vending and dispensing machines
of, for example, food, drink, tickets, money, or stamps. Mechanical
ability is assumed.

One-Year Fast Track
This fast-track program is for highly motivated students who want
to complete the AAS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology
in the shortest time possible. Electronics classes will meet from
8 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Monday through Friday during the Fall, Spring,
and Summer semesters. General Education, restricted elective, online
and physical education courses have to be scheduled during the afternoons
or evenings.
Registered Apprenticeship
ACC in conjunction with the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training
is offering apprenticeships in Electronics Engineering Technology.
The apprenticeship can be entered as soon as the apprenticeship
agreement has been signed by the apprentice and the employer.
Typically the apprenticeship will take four years. It will be completed
when the apprentice has accumulated 7220 hours on-the-job in the
areas outlined in the training plan and when all job-related instruction
has been received. With credit given for previous work experience
and related instruction, or with an accelerated work and instruction
schedule, the apprenticeship can be completed in less than four
years.
During the four years the apprentice will receive work-related
instruction in the classrooms at ACC for an average of 8 hours per
week in the Fall and Spring semesters. Typically an additional 32
to 40 hours per week will be spent on the job.
Transfer Curriculum
This program of study will lead to an Associate of Applied Science
Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology at ACC and is the approved
program of study for the guaranteed transfer and admission to Metropolitan
State College in Denver.
