Associate of Applied Science Degree
This degree is designed for students seeking a career in the criminal justice system. The primary areas of employment include peace officer, pretrial services, victim/witness assistant, and probation or parole officer.
Students should have the ability to produce work above the developmental level to be successful in this program. This means students must have CPT reading scores of 80+ and writing scores of 95+ or ACT/SAT scores that are equivalent.
NOTE: ACC has articulation agreements with several 4-year institutions for students who wish to complete their Bachelor degree. Interested students should select their electives only after consulting with the department advisor at ACC and the college/university to which they wish to transfer. These electives and the PED requirements can be met by those students who complete the Law Enforcement Academy and are P.O.S.T. certified. NOTE: Restricted electives credits resulting from a law enforcement academy are not transferrable to most 4-year institutions. Please see the criminal justice advisor for details.
Crime Analysis

Certificate
Crime analysis is an up-and-coming field within law enforcement. It combines criminal behavior theory, research and data from police departments and high-level computers to map and analyze where crime occurs (or might occur in the future) and to identify, locate and ultimately apprehend criminals.
Students should have the ability to produce work above the developmental level to be successful in this program. This means students must have CPT reading scores of 80+ and writing scores of 95+ or ACT/SAT scores that are equivalent.

The Law Enforcement Academy is a P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standard
and Training) certified program accredited through the Colorado
P.O.S.T. Board. The Academy enables graduates to become certified
as peace officers in Colorado. The Academy program consists of
34 semester credit hours.
