Business Administration Options

Why an Associate of Applied Science Degree?

Are you looking for training for an entry-level position in the marketable field of business? Are you working and looking for additional training to enhance your skills or learn new skills for career advancement? If you have answered yes to either one of these questions, an AAS Degree in Business Administration at Arapahoe Community College is the answer.

An AAS in Business Administration provides students with a large variety of highly sought out business and industry skills needed in public and private organizations today. Students who complete the program acquire a broad-based education necessary for today’s team-oriented and competitive environment while providing students instructional resources and ongoing enhancement of business skills.

At ACC, we offer students a wide variety of business administration options in general business, management, marketing, small business management, event management, real estate and travel and tourism.

 

General Business: Business Administration

Why general business? If you are looking for training in a broad range of business occupations, general business is the option for you.

Students are exposed to major areas in the business world. This option provides training in international business, business communication, business legal environment, cultural diversity and leadership; all necessary skills to compete and advance in the career of business.

Management: Business Administration

Why management? Are you looking for training for entry-level positions in management? Are you a manager looking for additional training to enhance your skills or learn new skills for career advancement? Are you looking for additional training to become a more effective manager? If so, this option is for you.

The management option provides educational training for entry-level positions in business, government and non-profit organizations. For those who are already managers, the management option is designed to broaden your skills by keeping abreast of the most current management concepts.

This option provides training in supervision, communication, team relations, human resource management, small business management, organizational management, strategic management, project management, conflict resolution and change management-all necessary skills to compete and advance in the career of management.

Marketing: Business Administration

Why marketing? Are you looking for training for an entry-level position in the exciting field of marketing? Are you working in a marketing position and looking for additional training to enhance your skills or learn new skills for career advancement? Are you a small business owner looking for effective ways to market your business? Are you attempting to increase sales for your business? If so, this option is for you.

The marketing option provides educational training for entry-level positions, which directs activities of the organization focusing on the satisfaction of customer’s wants and needs.

This option provides training in sales, customer service, consumer behavior, advertising, strategic marketing, e-commerce marketing, sports marketing and retail management-all necessary skills to compete and advance in the career of marketing.

Small Business Management: Business Administration

Why small business management? Are you thinking about owning your own business? Are you a small business owner or manager looking for ways to develop your skills, increase your sales and run a more profitable business? If so, this option is for you.

The small business management option is designed to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit by providing education and training in business, international business, personal finance, diversity, sales, customer service and advertising-all necessary skills for the small business owner or manager.

Real Estate: Business Administration

Are you interested in becoming a real estate broker? Are you interested in becoming an appraiser? You can acquire your real estate broker license or appraisal license as well as earn an AAS in Business Administration with a Real Estate option.

Students who successfully complete the courses in this option will satisfy the educational requirements of the Colorado Real Estate Commission or to become a licensed broker or registered appraiser.
