This one-year certificate program consists of classroom and online training, and is designed for individuals seeking a career in or currently working in the food preparation industry. The program focuses on all aspects of food preparation, menu planning and dining room and dining room management necessary for success in a culinary occupation. Students will acquire the knowledge necessary to work in food production, pastry/baking, guest services, food safety and sanitation, and management.
The Culinary Arts program is taught in a hands-on kitchen/restaurant environment located in Englewood High School in Englewood, Colorado, and is limited to 10 students per year. Available spaces are filled on a first-come, first –served basis (only complete applications are considered – see below) and begins each fall (spring starts are not permitted).
Written permission from the academic dean is required to register. Students must enroll in all 10 Culinary credit hours and MAT108, Technical Mathematics in the first semester (Fall), and in all 7 Culinary credits the second semester (Spring). Admission Requirements:
- Fully completed ACC Application for Admission
- Earned high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- An Accuplacer placement test is required for all students without a college or university degree.
Satisfactory ACT/SAT scores OR successful completion of developmental courses is also acceptable.
MINIMUM Accuplacer Test SCORES OR ACT/SAT EQUIVALENT:
Algebra: 61 or higher ACT 18 Reading: 62 or higher ACT R 16

Graduation:
All courses for the ACC Culinary Arts Certificate must be completed with a “C” or better in order to meet graduation requirements.
College Opportunity Fund:
The College Opportunity Trust Fund (COF), created by the Colorado Legislature, provides a stipend to eligible undergraduate students. The stipend pays a portion of your total in-state tuition when you attend a Colorado public institution or a participating private institution.
Eligible undergraduate students must apply, be admitted and enroll at a participating institution. Both new and continuing students are eligible for the stipend.
Qualifying students may use the stipend for eligible undergraduate classes. The stipend is paid on a per credit hour basis to the institution at which the student is enrolled. The credit-hour amount will be set annually by the General Assembly.
