Art History and Art Appreciation program

• foundation courses include ART110 (Art Appreciation), ART111 (Art History I), and ART112 (Art History II); core transferable courses that fulfill humanities electives requirements.
• special topics courses and workshops ranging from Romanticism to Modern Art at the Denver Art Museum; will soon include courses on cinematic arts.
• summer study abroad program: Art History in France.

Painting, Drawing, Design, and Printmaking Program

• variety of classes from all levels of drawing, design, figure drawing, oil painting, watercolor, and mixed media, to printmaking.
• classes include off-campus courses and workshops in New Mexico, Colorado, and France.
• traditional based program, each instructor brings their own viewpoint and style of teaching to the class. Our instructors begin with learning to draw and paint what we observe in life.
• greater emphasis on self-expression, experimentation and professionalism as the student advances.

• designed for beginning through advanced photography students and practitioners who wish to learn or improve photographic skills in a wide variety of approaches.
• classes conducted in a hands-on workshop method - student/instructor contact at a maximum.

• individual color darkrooms, large group black and white darkroom, film developing areas, critique and lecture classroom, studio and mounting room.

• largest Jewelry/Metals program in the Denver metropolitan area.
• well-equipped studio for casting, soldering, forging, and diamond setting, and contemporary techniques such as titanium and aluminum anodizing.
• beginning to advanced classes with workshops on special topics.

• designed to provide a strong background in the technical and aesthetic aspects of working with clay. Throwing, handbuilding, and sculpture techniques are the foundation.
• studio complete with 18 electric potter's wheels and kickwheels, 6 electric kilns, 3 gas kilns.
• processes include stoneware and porcelain, raku, lowfire salt, sawdust firing, and electric firings including majolica, commercial glazes, underglazes, one wood-fired kiln and one salt and wood-fired kiln.
