Financial Services: Recommended Course Sequence

The financial services program may be started during any semester of the year, on a full-time or part-time basis. Students should check the annual course schedule with their advisor as some courses may only be offered once a year.

Students should generally follow the recommended course sequence below in fulfilling the course requirements for the financial services degree. Part-time students may want to adapt these recommendations to fit their own part-time scheduling priorities.

  • Semester 1 (15-16 Credit Hours): CIS118, MAT121, ENG121, COM115, BUS216
  • Semester 2 (15-16 Credit Hours): FIN101, ECO201, INV115, MAT125, ACC121
  • Semester 3 (15-16 Credit Hours): ECO202, BUS217, BUS226, ACC122
  • Semester 4 (15-16 Credit Hours): Electives

Take During Any Semester:

Lab-based state guaranteed Science course, State guaranteed Arts and Humanities course and restricted electives totaling 7 credit hours (this includes finance courses completed through The Center for Financial Training Western States and The Mortgage Training Institute

Courses only offered specific formats and/or semesters:

  • ACC121 must be taken before ACC122
  • INV115 Fall - online; Spring - traditional
