- Assess your comprehension and vocabulary skills
- Spot where you need to improve
- Help you gain the reading skills and confidence you need
What Happens Next?
Deciding which Developmental reading course is for you...
- Your first step is to take the ACCUPLACER test in the Testing Center on the 2nd floor of the Main Building. You'll receive a print-out of your scores immediately after you finish the test. Your scores will go into your online school record.
- You will receive a document from the Testing Center telling you which Developmental Reading course is right for you, based on your scores.
We offer 3 levels of Developmental Reading: (get more detailed descriptions)
- REA 030 - focuses on word attack, vocabulary and reading comprehension
- REA 060 - focuses on vocabulary and improving reading comprehension
- REA 090 - focuses on strategies for improving comprehension and vocabulary, and skills for reading a college textbook
