Speech Lab

The Speech Lab is located inside the Media Center, Room M1715.

The lab's purpose is to provide a place where students can practice and videotape their speeches. Equipment provided includes a podium with a built-in monitor and computer, so students can load in PowerPoint presentations and see them as they speak. A flat screen panel is mounted behind the podium, and the videocamera is positioned so the screen is included in view on videotapes. There is also a VCR in the podium.

Assistance in using the lab is provided by Media Center staff, or by a Speech Lab Monitor.

The Media Center has free VHS videotapes that students can use to tape their speeches.

The lab is available on Mondays, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Time is reserved in 30-minute slots.
