Activity Professionals' Training

Become a Certified Activity Professional

Let ACC help you become a nationally certified Activity Professional. We offer the only state-approved Activity Professionals Training program in Colorado. The ACC APT program teaches students how to meet the psychosocial, physical and cultural needs of the older adult through a diverse activity program. In addition, students will learn the physical and social aspects of aging, program planning, regulatory requirements, documentation guidelines, volunteer management and administrative techniques.

The activity profession is unique in health care because the focus is on what is right with the person rather than what is wrong. An activity professional is offered flexibility and creativity while improving the quality of life of older adults residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, retirement communities and community-based adult day programs.
