This certificate prepares students to take the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification.

The Residential Energy Analyst Certificate will give you the knowledge and skills to work as an entry-level residential energy analyst. In this field, you would conduct home weatherization assessments and energy audits for the private sector, small businesses or governmental agencies. You are introduced to building science, testing and evaluating the residential building envelope; water heating and usage; energy consumption; heating and cooling; and appliance efficiency.

This certificate is the foundation that can lead to other energy efficiency career opportunities including: energy auditor, weatherization specialist, operations manager, green building and retrofit consultant, sales, planning and project management. Others may choose to start their own business or expand current business services.
