FRE 211 – French Language III – 3 credits

  • Prerequisite: FRE 112 or instructor permission.

  • Course Objectives: This course is intended to provide the students with more advanced knowledge of French grammar and syntax, with the skills necessary for meaningful oral and written communication, and with an understanding of the interrelatedness of culture and language
  • Student Competencies: Upon completion of this course, the student at the intermediate-low level should be able to:
  1. Understand and respond appropriately in simple conversation.
  2. Initiate, comprehend, and maintain meaningful communication in a simple conversation.
  3. Demonstrate comprehension of expanded written selections, including literary selections.
  4. Create guided, written compositions.
  5. Demonstrate enhanced awareness of major cultural contributions associated with French and francophone cultures.
