- Ensure proper placement by assessing each learner's level of preparedness for college coursework
- Maintain academic standards by enabling learners to acquire competencies needed for success in mainstream college courses

Developmental Mathematics:
- Maybe your math skills are a bit rusty
- Maybe you struggle with fractions and decimals
- Maybe you can brush up on working with integers
Developmental math courses are designed for:
- improving basic math skills
- identifying weaknesses in mathematics
- gain confidence and skills to succeed in college level math courses
How to get started:
- Your first step is to take the Accuplacer test in the testing center on the 2nd floor of the ACC main building.
- You will receive a scoring sheet from the testing center letting you know which course is right for your skill set.
Courses:
- MAT 030 – focuses on fractions, decimals and whole number operations
- MAT 060 – focuses on percents, proportions, integer and solving basic equations
- MAT 090 – focuses on solving first degree equations and inequalities, formulas, polynomials and algebraic fractions
- MAT 099 – focuses on problem solving with further study of equations, slope, inequalities, systems of equations, polynomials, quadratic equations, rational expressions, rational exponents, radical expressions, graphing and applications.
