Computer Network Security

Arapahoe Community College invites you to be a part of the challenging career in network security. The purpose of the Computer and Network Security Track is to prepare students for entry and mid-level security technician positions in small to mid-sized businesses, in fields of networking management, technical support and other telecommunications issues. Students will learn the basics of data encryption, secure networks, disaster recovery, firewalls and much more. Students can be part of an AAS degree program or a certificate program.

The Computer and Network Security Track is one of several emphases within the Computer Network Technology program. This track prepares individuals for jobs in the computer networking field. Students in this program gain hands-on experience with computer hardware, software and networks. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will have the needed background to take the exams for Network+, Security+, CWNA and CWSP.

This program is specifically designed to prepare students as entry-level Computer/Networking Security Technicians. Students are encouraged to take the Security+ and CWSP tests to receive the industry certifications.
