At ACC we offer a one year Activity Professional Training certificate program that is unique in health care because the focus is on what is right with a person rather than what is wrong. Our program expands the scope of the activity professional to meet the federal regulations while improving the quality of life of the older adult through a diverse activity program.

This Program:
- is the only state approved training program in Colorado
- faculty work in the profession
- has classes scheduled 3 consecutive eight-hour days per month each semester to better accommodate a work and travel schedule
- aligns with the National Certificate Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) required courses of MEPAP I and MEDPAP II
- meets one component of the certification profess set forth by NCCAP for National Certification through that organization
- the graduate is qualified according to the Federal OBRA regulations to be an Activity Director in a long term care facility
- all courses required for this certificate must be completed with a 'C' or better to meet graduation requirements
- practicum course includes 90 hours in an activity department
