Journalism and Mass Communications
JOU 105 Introduction to Mass Media
3 Credits
Places the mass media in an historical and cultural perspective, considering the validity, integrity and influence of the media in a democracy.
JOU 106 Fundamentals of Reporting
3 Credits
Introduces news writing, reporting and interviewing with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, completeness, timeliness and fairness.
PREREQUISITE: ENG 121.
JOU 215 Publications Production and Design
3 Credits
Provides for students participation in the planning, writing, design and production processes of a non-newspaper publication.
JOU 275 Special Topics
1-6 Variable Credits
Provides students with a vehicle to pursue in-depth exploration of special topics of interest.
JOU 285 Independent Study
1-6 Variable Credits
Meets the individual needs of students. Students engage in intensive study or research under the direction of a qualified Instructor.
PREREQUISITE: Instructor's permission.
