French
FRE 101 Conversational French I
3 Credits
Introduces beginning students to conversational French and
focuses on understanding and speaking French. Covers basic
vocabulary, grammar, and expressions that are used in daily
situations and in travel.

and export financing, financial management of the multinational
firm, the international money market and Macroeconomic
policy in an Open Economy.
FRE 102 Conversational French II
3 Credits
Continues the sequence for beginning students who wish to
understand and speak French. Covers basic conversational
patterns, expressions, and grammar.
PREREQUISITE: FRE
101 or Instructor’s permission.
FRE 111 French Language I
5 Credits
Begins a sequence dealing with the development of functional
proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing the
French language. Note: The order of the topics and the methodology
will vary according to individual texts and Instructors.
FRE 112 French Language II
5 Credits
Continues French I in the development of functional proficiency
in listening, speaking, reading and writing the French
language. Note: The order of the topics and the methodology
will vary according to individual texts and Instructors.
PREREQUISITE:
FRE 111 or Instructor’s permission.
FRE 201 Conversational French III
3 Credits
Continues the sequence for students who wish to continue
their study of understanding and speaking French. Covers
intermediate level vocabulary, grammar, and expressions.

FRE 202 Conversational French IV
3 Credits
Continues the sequence for students who wish to
advance their study of understanding and speaking

Continues French I and II in the development of increased
functional proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and

Provides students with a vehicle to pursue in-depth exploration
of special topics of interest.

FRE 285 Independent Study
1-6 Variable Credits
Meets the individual needs of students. Students engage in
intensive study or research under the direction of a qualified
Instructor.
