ARMY ROTC
ARM 103 Adventures in Leadership I
2 Credits
Introduces the student to fundamentals of leadership and
the United States Army. Includes Army leadership doctrine,
team-building concepts, time and stress management,
an introduction to cartography and land navigation,
marksmanship, briefing techniques and basic military
tactics. Includes lecture and laboratory.
ARM 112 Adventures in Leadership
2 Credits
Investigates leadership in small organizations. Covers basic
troop leading procedures, military first aid and casualty
evacuation concepts, creating ethical work climates, an
introduction to Army organizations and installations and
basic military tactics. Introduces students to effective
military writing styles. Includes lecture and laboratory.
PREREQUISITES: ARM 111 or Instructor's permission.
ARM 211 Methods of Leadership and Management I
3 Credits
Reviews leadership and management concepts including
motivation, attitudes, communication skills, problem
solving, human needs and behavior and leadership
self-development. Students refine written and oral
communications skills and explore the basic branches of
the Army and officer and NCO duties. Students conduct
practical exercises in small unit light infantry tactics and
perform as mid-level leaders in the organization. Includes
lecture and laboratory.
PREREQUISITES: ARM 112 or Instructor's permission.
ARM 212 Methods of Leadership and Management II
3 Credits
Focuses on leadership and management functions in military
and corporate environments. Studies various components
of Army leadership doctrine to include the four elements
of leadership, leadership principles, risk management
and planning theory, the be-know-do framework and the
Army leadership evaluation program. Continue to refine
communication skills. Includes lecture and laboratory.
PREREQUISITES: ARM 211 or Instructor's permission.
