PRIVATE LESSONS

Private Instrument and Voice Lessons
For all levels and abilities for any aspiring musician over age 8. You will receive 10 half hour private lessons over 10 weeks. Lessons will be set up to meet your schedule with some flexibility. You will be contacted by the instructor to schedule your lessons. Instructors will explain the policy for any make-up sessions if permitted.

Ten-week sessions will begin the week of September 21 and run through November 27.

When registering, please specify the string, woodwind, brass, or guitar instrument.

Beginning Guitar—Start Strumming!

Intermediate Guitar

PIANO
Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People

Karen Reinhold has taught the One Day Piano Workshop methods since 1997, which has been taken by over 100,000 students nationwide. The PBS program, “Play Piano in a Flash” uses these learning techniques.

Play the Piano by Ear

Contrary to popular belief, anyone can learn to play by ear. Discover the inside secrets professional piano players use but never reveal. Learn to pick tunes out of your head, take songs off the radio, and even transpose music. After watching a demonstration, you’ll be picking out tunes with both hands. Learn to find the starting note, recognize common chord patterns, changes and progressions, use the circle of fifths and more.

Acting Basics

Acting Basics II

Acting Basics II is a fun and interactive follow up to the Acting Basics class or for anyone who wants to brush up on their acting or presentation skills. Opera! Opera! Opera!

“ I always wanted to learn about opera, but….”. Here is your chance to gain knowledge and understanding of opera during an enjoyable evening of discussion, listening to CD’s and watching videos and DVDs of two famous operas. Offenbach’s, “The Tales of Hoffman”, a vivid fantasy springs to life in the stories of a poet obsessed with four remarkable women and four villains bent on his destruction. Also, Rossini’s, “The Barber of Seville”, a comic opera about a count and his girlfriend trying to get married, assisted by a busybody “barber.” Arrangements may be made to attend an Opera Colorado dress rehearsal.

The Hudson Gardens and Event Center logo

Check in at the Gift Shop and identify yourself as an ACC class participant for that day. Additionally, meet your instructor 10 minutes prior to the class start time in front of the gift shop at the main parking area. Classes are held in the Hudson Residence, a one-story home located northwest of the gift shop.

Argentine Tango

Learn the fun, healthy, sophisticated steps of the Argentine Tango. Discover your hidden artistic talents while making new friends and receiving a mild workout. Learn to dance with total confidence. Dance shoes with suede or leather sole shoes are highly recommended. No rubber sole shoes. It is recommended that you register with a partner.

Spencer and Vanessa Larkin were instructed by world famous professional Argentine master dance teachers in Argentina. They have danced together for more than 30 years in social salons and have taught dance classes in Argentina, USA, Germany, Italy, France, and Chile.

Hip Hop Dance at the Gardens
Discover the funky street stylings of Hip Hop while getting a great workout! Practice exciting, high intensity Hip Hop moves and create combinations you can use on the dance floor. DANCE AT STATE OF THE ARTS STUDIO
FOR DANCE AND THE PERFORMING ARTS
The following co-ed classes meet at a beautiful facility which is equipped with floating/sprung floors, mirrors and barres, a sound system with pitch control and air conditioning. Expert instructors help develop skills at your pace, and promote individual style, proper movement, musicality and fun! Due to high demand, many classes are available at two levels: a beginning class (Level I) and the next level (Level II).A Practice Party is held at the Studio on the last Friday of every session.

Unless indicated otherwise, wear comfortable business casual attire in which you can move. Only Suede soled dance shoes allowed on the studio floors. No outdoor street shoes! If you do not own suede soled dance shoes, socks and/or bare feet are welcome.

Ballet develops strength, poise, grace, balance, agility and is a great cross trainer for sports! Work core strength while developing long, lean muscles and increasing flexibility while discovering this beautiful dance form. Practice the fundamentals of technique at barre and center and explore movement traveling across the floor and with center combinations. Discover Cecchetti, RAD, French, Russian and/or Vaganova styles of Ballet. Women should wear tights and leotard as a base and may add a skirt or layer dance pants/shirt over the top along with pink split soled ballet slippers. Full sole slippers are welcome if you already own a pair. Men should wear dance pants and fitted T-shirt along with black split soled ballet slippers.

Adult Tap Level I and II
“Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and have a great ol’ time! Discover theatrical and rhythm styles of Tap dance and at the same time get some cardio conditioning and tone the lower body. Polish basic technique and fundamentals, for the beginning level tap student, while continuing a comprehensive progression through higher level figures and combinations for the more experienced dancer.
