Valorie Snyder

Valorie has taught art for over 30 years at her studio and for ACC. She developed a unique curriculum that combines right brain eye training with classical, old master techniques. Students are often surprised at their rapid improvement in drawing skills. Painting students have an opportunity to keep an ongoing workbook containing handouts, class exercises and assignments. Valorie accepts portrait commissions and other custom paintings. She is an award winning artist, who has shown her work locally, regionally and nationally. She has directed the ACC Student Art Show for Community Education. Additionally, Valorie loves to paint people in situations that tell a story and enjoys “plain air” painting (outdoors, on location). She is a part of the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, and Colorado Artists Guild.

She is a Denver native, and in addition to training at CSU and UCD, Valorie was classically trained at Atelier Richards, a studio school devoted to handing down the methods of the old masters.
