Photoshop Elements Basics

Learn to organize your images, to enhance and fix your digital photos. Bring your laptop (PC or Mac) preferably loaded with Elements 11 (a minimum of version 9 or newer), as well as images that you would like to use. During the first week you will learn how to manage your photos and practice using the basic editing tools to improve your images. During the second week, learn about layers, create artistic affects, take out unwanted objects (like that pesky pedestrian in your family photo), move or add people to a photo, and other practical editing skills.

Bring your laptop (PC or Mac) loaded with Elements software, as well as images that you would like help improving. Information on “digital darkroom” techniques will be covered in order to help you improve lighting, color, and exposure issues. Learn about levels, non-destructive layers, masks (applying effects or filters to specific areas), blending, color and skin tone corrections and Photomerge. Explore collage techniques and basic graphic design options, such as digital scrapbooking and bookmaking tips. Course uses version 11 of the software; you must have a minimum of 9 or newer. Prerequisite: Photoshop Elements Basic class or equivalent understanding
