Improv Scene Making for Everyone

Pam O’Mara
Join Pam, improv performer and author of Suggestion Please:  Denver's Secret Improv Culture. Get active! Learn and practice improvisational scene-making — what it is and how it’s done — or just have fun, increase energy, relieve stress, and build new friendships. Each week is different and focuses on character- and scene-building skills through numerous opportunities to create a repertoire of characters and work with scene partners. Bring your energy and a bottle of water. No acting or improv experience required.

PIANO

Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People

Karen Reinhold
You don’t need years of weekly lessons to learn piano. Discover enough to give you years of musical enjoyment. The traditional approach teaches note reading, while professional pianists use chords. Learn the chords to play any song, any style, any key. Perfect your technique at home, using an exclusive CD provided. It’s easy, fun, and musically correct. If you know the keyboard a little, (F-A-C-E, Every Good Boy Does Fine), you know enough to enroll. If not, a free pamphlet that explains the basics will be mailed to you upon request.

Play the Piano by Ear

Karen Reinhold
Contrary to popular belief, anyone can learn to play by ear. Discover the inside secrets professional piano players use but never reveal. Learn to pick tunes out of your head, take songs off the radio, and even transpose music. After watching a demonstration, you’ll be picking out tunes with both hands. Learn to find the starting note, recognize common chord patterns, changes and progressions, use the circle of fifths and more. Prerequisite: Instant Piano Class or working knowledge of major, minor and 7th chords.
