How do I a become a member of the ACC Student Leadership Council?
- Go to the Student Leadership Council Office (Room M2815) or the Student Affairs Office (Room M2820) and pick up a petition form.
- Complete the petition form, write a letter of intent, complete an interview, acquire two letters of reference – one from a faculty member and one from a college staff member of your choice and collect the required 30 VALID student signatures. Turn in the information packet to the Student Affairs Office.
- An election process is held each fall semester. Throughout the year potential Council Members may be voted into office by the current SLC.
- Once voted in by the SLC, or by the students at large during an election, you are considered a member of the SLC.

Why should I become involved with the Student Leadership Council?
The leadership skills and experiences gained by being involved in the Senate are extremely valuable for both your personal and professional life. By being part of the decision making process you will be an advocate for change and be an influential voice on campus.
How long is my term on the Student Leadership Council?
Whether you are elected or voted onto the Student Leadership Council, your term runs through the following Spring Semester elections. At that time you can run for reelection for another term.
What are the responsibilities after I am elected?
- You must be enrolled in three (3) credit hours at ACC during the fall and spring semesters.
- You must have a cumulative G.P.A. of AT LEAST 2.85.
- Attend SLC meetings.
- As a SLC member, you must maintain membership in at least one college committee.
