Drop your old texts in the collection boxes outside of the Phi Theta Kappa office and outside the Bookstore. If you have a big stack of texts email erica.hastert@arapahoe.edu to have the books picked up.

The Honors Study Topic

Our current topic was conceived by the Honors Committee at the International Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters. Topics are created to be timely, thought provoking and inter-disciplinary.

The focus of the 2008 – 2010 Honors Topic is The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges and Consequences. This subject brings important current issues to the fore and encourages Phi Theta Kappans to examine how these issues affect their lives. We plan activities that allow us and the ACC community to explore this complex theme.

Members of our chapter also have enjoyed study in regional conferences and the annual Honors Institute, a seminar held every June. Members of our chapter have attended this conference every year for more than 10 years.

The 2009 International Honors Institute took place at the University of Richmond. Lisa Hardman., Kyle Riffle, Angela Weissmueller, Erika Christiansen, and our Advisor Erica Hastert attended this conference.
