About Arapahoe Community College

The smart place to start

Founded in 1965, Arapahoe Community College (ACC) was the first community college to open in the Denver area. What began as Arapahoe Junior College with 550 students has grown into a bustling community college serving over 20,000 credit and non-credit students annually. ACC is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

At Arapahoe Community College, student success is at the heart of everything we do. We provide engaging and innovative educational opportunities for learners with a myriad of academic, professional and personal goals. We focus on improving the quality of life and economic health of our students and communities within Douglas, south Jefferson and Arapahoe counties.

We help ACC students achieve goals of transferring to four-year universities; career preparation and advancement; and personal fulfillment. In addition to popular college programs, we offer many opportunities for lifelong learners including community education, continuing education for professionals, customized training for corporate needs, and programs for seniors.

Arapahoe Community College has two convenient campuses, the main Campus in Littleton and a Douglas County facility located just east of I-25 and Lincoln Ave. For students who prefer not to attend classes in person, we offer an expansive schedule of online courses.

ACC instructional divisions include Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Professional Services, Health, Math, Science and Engineering and Police Academy. We also offer hundreds of non-credit courses and a Corporate Learning Division. Eighty-two percent of our faculty have advanced degrees and 16 percent have doctorates.

Arapahoe Community College is dedicated to the complete satisfaction and achievement of our students. Among the many services we have to help students are a peer mentoring and tutoring center, a career resource center and an award-winning childcare center.
