What is your fondest memory at ACC?

My fondest memory of ACC was the day I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. At the induction ceremony, I felt inspired to do my very best. As my academic achievements were acknowledged, I gained the aspiration to develop stability and strength of character. It was at this ceremony that I felt for the first time in my life that I could succeed. The light of learning had touched my life and I would never be the same. The warm enlightened feeling stayed with me as I pursued three academic degrees.

How has ACC influenced you?

ACC has empowered me by giving me the educational foundation to move forward and enjoy a happier more fulfilling life. The strong educational foundation and support I received at ACC enabled me to continue my academic excellence at Regis University followed by a successful career. Because of the strong education I received at ACC, my understanding of the world around me has increased. I am truly grateful to all of the faculty and staff that helped me on my journey to becoming a better, stronger person.

What have you been doing since you left ACC?

I graduated from ACC in May of 1999 having earned an A.A.S. in Computer Information System. I took a year off from school and worked for the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration as a Web programmer. In 2001, I transferred to Regis University and went to work for Littleton Public Schools. I earned a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, with Alpha Sigma Nu honors in May of 2005. I continued my education at Regis graduating Magna cum laude in May 2007 having earned a Master of Education in Instructional Technology. While applying for my teaching license in the spring of 2007, I learned ACC was in desperate need of a Webmaster. During the time I attended school at ACC, I was a work-study on the website. I greatly enjoyed this work and found it meaningful. My career goal of teaching K-12 technology classes changed when ACC hired me five days after my commencement ceremony in 2007. I have now worked at ACC managing the websites for nearly five years. It is gratifying to give back to the college that helped me to succeed. I find the work rewarding, as I meet the needs of those who use the college websites.
